The 2017 Honda Civic Type R is well on its way and will be the first global Type R. At the Geneva motor show Honda revealed the hatchback prototype concept. Whilst this car is not the new 2017 Type R its exaggerated details do hint at what we can expect from the next Honda hot hatchback.
The low and wide stance of the car along with large alloy wheels leave little to the imagination. A central exhaust matches that found on test mules. Flared wheel arches will not make it onto the production Civic hatchback, but would be befitting of the next Type R.
We already know that the next 2017 Honda Civic Type R will be powered by a development of the existing 306bhp turbocharged VTEC found in todays 2016 Type R.
